It is a pleasure for us to inform all of the members of the The Israeli Society of Nephrology and Hypertension about the newly created Young Nephrologists' Platform (YNP) of the European Renal Association – European Dialysis and Transplant Association (ERA-EDTA). We would like to invite you and all nephrologists (physicians and researches interested in nephrology) from your country to participate actively to this platform.

YNP was appointed by the ERA-EDTA. By now, our platform consists of 86 ordinary members coming from all over the Europe and the World. The YNP Board consists of a chairman - Miklos Zsolt Molnar MD, PhD (Hungary) and five board members - Ana Carina da Costa Ferreira MD (Portugal), Davide Bolignano MD (Italy), Marius Kusztal MD, PhD (Poland), Maria Majernikova MD (Slovakia), Kültigin Türkmen MD (Turkey). In addition, Giovana Seno di Marco, PhD (Germany) joined us as an ex officio member (she is the winner of the ERA-EDTA Young Investigator Award in 2012).

The major aim of the YNP is to provide communication, education and collaboration among young nephrologists as well as build up and keep possibilities open for potential individuals with interest in clinical nephrology and/or other levels of scientific research. Members of YNP can be involved in the ERA-EDTA Working Groups, Scientific Advisory Board, CME Courses, Congress Scientific Committees and other ERA-EDTA initiatives. This is the reason why we kindly ask and encourage you to inform as many young nephrologists as possible about the opportunity of becoming a member of the YNP (for more information regarding ERA-EDTA & YNP membership visit http://www.era-edta.org/page-19-117-0-117-youngnephrologistsplatformynp.html and http://www.era-edta.org/page-15-30-0-30-becomeamember.html). We would also sincerely appreciate your support for the dissemination of the ERA-EDTA YNP in your country, e.g. by publishing the announcement attached to this message in your communication media (website homepage, newsletter, journals…).
YNP will be officially inaugurated at the 50th ERA-EDTA Congress in Istanbul. The YNP session will start at 8:00 am on May 21st, 2013. Detailed reports of our goals and a scientific program will soon be available on the official ERA-EDTA website as well as Congress website.

We are open to any kind of insights that you and your young colleagues might have, and comments are always more than welcome.
